WW2 themed cooking session

Owl Class have kicked off their history learning this term, with a delicious WW2 themed cooking session.  ....Or was it delicious?!?

The eggless chocolate cake and the cheese and potatoe dumplings were fun to cook and the jury is still out on the tastiness factor!

The experience has cooincided with a real time, genuine limit on egg purchasing in some supermarkets today.  The children have been drawing parallels with modern day rationing as they find out about the availability of tomoatoes, cucumbers and cornflour.

Ultimately, we are discussing the pros and cons of a 'grow you own' lifestyle as the 'Dig for Victory' topic unfolds.
