Earth Day Celebrations

School celebrates Earth Day by watching play!

The 22nd of April is Earth Day, a day dedicated to educating about the sustainability of the earth and environmental protection. To celebrate Earth Day all 3 classes at Stoke St Michael watched a livestream video performance of The Lorax by The Old Vic Theatre.

The Lorax focuses on the effects of human destruction of the natural environment in a fun and engaging way. In the lead up to and after watching the performance the classes talked about the key points of the play such as caring for the environment and standing up for what they believe in. The performance was enjoyed by all the children and teachers.

Also as a way to be more environmentally friendly all of the school saved electricity by not having any lights on for most of the day.
