Teeth and digestion!

Chestnut Class does science!

Over the last two weeks Chestnuts children have been learning all about teeth and digestion. They started by examining their teeth and thinking about the jobs each type of tooth did. They then used this knowledge to create their own set of clay teeth.

They then conducted a simulation of digestion using everyday kitchen items: scissors and a masher to represent the teeth, tights to simulate the intestines and finally compressed cups to simulate excretion!

They all had a great time and now have a good idea about what happens to all the food they eat.
