On Wednesday 4th October, Conkers class had a busy day exploring Wells Cathedral and learning about the construction of this amazing structure.  We began by rebuilding the Cathedral using a three dimensional wooden model and learning about each part of the building.  We then looked at the construction of the stone arches and spent some time sketching the famous scissor arches.  We also looked  at some of the important symbols in the cathedral and made our own badges in the education room.  We were lucky enough to have a guided tour where the children were able to ask questions and learn lots of interesting facts that they will be able to use in their projects on Wells.  The guides were very impressed with how much the children already knew about the Cathedral and noted how well behaved they were throughout their visit.  Thanks again must go to our parent volunteers for their help on this fascinating day!
