40 For The Federation

We are the champions!

On Saturday 25th our Federation schools came together for an amazing fundraising event which has so far raised over £6400!

40 For The Federation! was a 42km/26m walk through the beautiful Mendip hills. Parents, teachers and members of the public walked the route over the whole day passing through 4 check points. All the money raised will be shared across the schools and will go towards improving the playground experience of the children.

Co-Head teacher, Mel Vincent, said:

"WOW! What an incredible achievement, over £6400 and it is still going up!

We'd like to express our sincere gratitude to the event creators Tamsyn and David Richardson-Aitken and their family and friends who have worked tirelessly and compassionately alongside their team of planners, trainers, organisers, coordinators, first aiders, check point attendants and course cheerers to name a few of the roles and of course ALL of the wonderful walkers (and runners!) whether you achieved the 26 mile distance on the day or over the course of September. The determination and compassion you have shown the children in our schools has been outstanding and will leave a long-standing legacy for years to come. Our federation is a terrific team that comes together when needed to create and give the best possible outcomes for the children in our communities, we can't thank you and your families enough for all of the sponsorship money and support and effort to give the children in these small and wonderfully unique village schools better equipment and grounds.

Thank you, THANK YOU!"

Thank you also to John Wainwright & Co Ltd for a generous donation to cover all the events running costs and to Tesco Shepton & Morrisons Wells for the kind donation of fruit, water and sweets for all the walkers! Your support make a huge difference to our small schools.
